While our galleries are closed we\u2019ve been reflecting on JCG exhibitions past #<\/span>flashbackfriday<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u2800
\nWe thought we\u2019d take a look at one of JCG’s very first exhibitions!\u2800
\n\u2800
\nJCG opened it\u2019s doors on the 19th February 1998 with two exhibitions \u2013 one of which was “Tracey Moffatt: Up in the Sky”.
\n<\/span><\/h2>\n<\/div>

Tracey\u2019s show featured large format colour cibachrome prints, photo-lithographs & short films including “Night Cries – A Rural Tragedy” which had gained critical success at the 1990 Cannes International Film Festival.\u2800
\n\u2800
\nThe works exhibited were based on personal memories as well as those of her family & friends, they challenged the social environments that we live & work in.\u2800
\n\u2800
\nThis show holds a special place in JCG\u2019s history as it also meant that the major acquisition of \u201cSomething More\u201d from 1996 was displayed to the public for the first time.\u2800
