While our galleries are closed we’ve been reflecting on JCG exhibitions past. #flashbackfriday

Fremantle based, ceramic artist Pippin Drysdale first exhibited with the John Curtin Gallery back in 2007 with her stunning show “Lines of Site”. ⠀

“Lines Of Site” was a major survey of her work and a celebration of the unique forms she created in response to the landscapes of Australia, particularly the Kimberly and Tanami Desert areas. ⠀

This exhibition, installed in the stunning, spotlit JCG galleries, showcased an enormous collection of works from private collections as well as new site-specific works. Pippin is a prolific maker and this exhibition attests to her studio’s impressive output. ⠀

The exhibition was so successful that a decade later, JCG held another survey exhibition by Pippin called “Confluence”, this time, alongside her long time collaborator Warwick Palmateer.
