Astrofest Astrophotography 2018
25 May – 24 June 2018

The John Curtin Gallery presents an exhibition of stunning photographic works by some of Western Australia’s most accomplished astrophotographers and astro-imagers.

The 2018 Astrofest Astrophotography exhibition features deep space images, planetary images and astronomical landscape images which record the cosmos above a myriad of locations throughout Western Australia.

The works on show at the Gallery were part of the 2018 Astrofest photography competition which was held at Curtin University’s Bentley Campus for Astrofest, Western Australia’s biggest annual astronomy festival. The judging panel, some of whom were drawn from the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR) awarded prizes for the Best Astrophoto, Best Timelapse and Best New Talent. Visitors to Astrofest were also able to vote in the People’s Choice Award.

The exhibition will be in the Access Gallery at the John Curtin Gallery, Curtin University from 25 May to 24 June before touring to various regional centres through the remainder of the year.

The exhibition is supported by Curtin University, the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research, Alley Cat Merchandise, Celestial Visions, Camera Electronic, Shoot Photography Workshops and Pendoley Environmental.
