Black and white image the foreground dark with thin sparse vegetation opening out towards rolling hills and misty peaks at the horizon and further in the distance the fading view of land and water. At the top of the image the sky is grey fading down wards in a misty white fog concealing a large mountain. This image gives the sense of some one looking out towards the horizon as if ready to make a journey, the misty areas of the landscape of things yet to revealed or explored, the foreground is dark while the rest of the image bright and airy.
Sense and Sensitivity celebrates the unique sensorial place of autistic artistry in the world via the lens of landscape photographer, Simon Phillips, and the deep listening of performance artist Dawn-joy Leong.
In a kaleidoscope of beautiful imagery and subtle sound, this remarkable collaboration privileges the feelings of both artists for the world; how they engage with it through what they see, hear and touch; revealing their exquisite appreciation for themes of diversity, balance, place and timelessness.
