ENERGAIA
28 March – 8 May 2022
Energaia is an exhibition of work from visual artists, film-makers, designers and writers engaging with low carbon energy futures. An anthology of speculative fiction sits beside an interactive printed book. Life-scale images of wind turbines hang from the walls, echoing the scale of these turbine blades. An interactive documentary about how young people imagine the future of our world includes artworks and multiple voices, and a holographic projection riffs on Star Wars to include the voices of Extinction Rebellion. Two Virtual Reality experiences take the viewer into new worlds, one inside a circular economy building in Fremantle, and the other a coastal community town in the year 2050, entirely powered by energy produced from a water turbine.
