SENSE AND SENSITIVITY
Audio transcript: 14 July at 2:18pm. Black and white image, from the bottom of the picture at the centre a long jetty reaches up and out like an upside down letter “L”. It’s surrounded by smooth still water with a mirror like quality that meets faint misty land in the distance as a brilliant white misty sky halos above. This image is dark at the bottoms edge, and the jetty begins from the bottom centre giving the impression that some is about to walk out on the jetty, the wood plank of the jetty look grey and weathered with a clear tone difference of many foot steps over time. This image has a reflective feel to it, with the jetty only going so far, do people come here to fish or find some quiet time to reflect?

Sense and Sensitivity celebrates the unique sensorial place of autistic artistry in the world via the lens of landscape photographer, Simon Phillips, and the deep listening of performance artist Dawn-joy Leong.
In a kaleidoscope of beautiful imagery and subtle sound, this remarkable collaboration privileges the feelings of both artists for the world; how they engage with it through what they see, hear and touch; revealing their exquisite appreciation for themes of diversity, balance, place and timelessness.
